There are a number of support groups operating on the far north coast which provide information, support and social outings for Grand-carers and their grandchildren. Currently we have monthly gatherings in Tweed Heads - First Tuesday of each month Lismore - Second Friday of the month Ballina - second Tuesday In the Grafton area there is an excellent support group which has been running for some years. It is called the Clarence Valley Kindred Children's Carers Support Group. Contacts are: Margaret 6649 7057 Joanne 6644 9248 Most of our get togethers are at 10 in the morning and we usually have morning tea, an informal chat about issues that concern us, and talk about great activities we can plan for us to do outside school hours with the kids along too. We cover topics of special interest in response to the interest of group members. There is no joining fee, no committees, and no expectation that anyone has to take on responsibilities through being part of these groups.
